In 2014| The Condor became The Condor: Ornithological Applications| an international| peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research| syntheses| and assessments that address ornithological applications in two ways: the application of scientific theory and methods to the conservation| management| and ecology of birds; and the application of ornithological knowledge to conservation and management policy and other issues of importance to society. The journal aims to reach both research ornithologists and practitioners. The Condor: Ornithological Applications is an online journal| with current articles published weekly. Posted articles have a DOI and final page numbers for citation. Issues are printed on a quarterly basis. The Condor began in 1899 as the journal of the Cooper Ornithological Club| a group of ornithologists in California. Since those early days| the Cooper Ornithological Society has grown to become an international organization| and The Condor has developed into one of the world’s foremost ornithological journals.
