New 2014: Meteorologische Zeitschrift is a full Open Access Journal In 2011 the 5-year-impact factor rose to 1.875. The immediacy factor in the ranking categories of 'Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences' of Meteorologische Zeitschrift peaked at position 1. Aims and Scope Meteorologische Zeitschrift (originally founded in 1866) is the joint periodical of the meteorological societies of Austria, Germany and Switzerland. It accepts high-quality peer-reviewed manuscripts on all aspects of observational, theoretical and computational research out of the entire field of meteorology, including climatology.
